Parma held Werder Bremen to a draw in today’s pre-season friendly match, but there was bad news for striker Jacob Ondrejka, who was taken away in an ambulance.

The Ducali had an unusual format for this test at the Parkstadion in Zell am Ziller in Austria, because it was effectively two halves of 60 minutes each.

Nonetheless, there were no goals to report on for Carlos Cuesta’s team or the opposition.

Ondrejka had a bright start with a few chances, while Mateo Pellegrini’s header bounced off the woodwork, but Ondrejka’s game ended after circa 40 minutes when he fell awkwardly following a challenge.

It immediately seemed to be serious, and the striker was taken away for x-rays in an ambulance, suggesting a possible fracture.

The next Ducali friendly will be against Real Club Deportivo Mallorca in Worgl, Austria, on Thursday July 31.
