Daniele Ghilardi is effectively a done deal with Roma, they are just trying to finalise the specifics of the add-ons on top of the €10m transfer with Hellas Verona before giving the all clear for a medical.

The defender is going to be part of Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad this season and has his bags packed, especially as Verona have just completed the first part of their pre-season training camp.

We had already reported on last night’s conference call and the reasoning behind it, so we can now confirm the documents were not exchanged yet this morning.

Why Ghilardi to Roma is not official yet

Verona had accepted the €10m fee, but asked for a little more in add-ons, because as part of his previous move to the Stadio Bentegodi, Fiorentina are owed 50 per cent of the future sale.

However, this is only for the fixed fee and the bonuses are therefore kept by Verona.

The final figures should therefore be €10m plus another €2m in performance-related bonuses.

They are all just getting through the final red tape steps before giving Ghilardi the all clear to undergo a medical.
