Milan could soon have their own basketball team in a new league connected to the NBA, according to reports, as part of a RedBird project.

There are suggestions that the American National Basketball Association are trying to set up a European men’s basketball league, hiring JPMorgan Chase and Raine Group to help advise them.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, one of the other advisors is Rossoneri patron Gerry Cardinale, who runs RedBird.

They have investments in numerous different sports, so it would be a good business opportunity to create a basketball team linked to AC Milan.

It is hardly a new idea, as several big European football clubs have basketball squads who share resources, including marketing and merchandising.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be among the sides interested in this project.

The Lombardy city already has a basketball team, Olimpia, who have a 10-year contract with the Eurolega division.
