Former Juventus, Chelsea and Inter winger Juan Cuadrado is on the verge of joining newly-promoted Serie A side Pisa.

According to what has been reported by SkySport, via FirenzeViola, Cuadrado is expected in Pisa tomorrow to finalise a deal and take his medical tests.

The former Juventus man will sign for Pisa on a free transfer, with his contract at Atalanta having expired last month after just one year. In his time at Atalanta, the Colombian played 32 times in all competitions.

Pisa hope Cuadrado will assist survival push

Pisa arrive in Serie A with one, very simple, mission: to not get relegated. As with all freshly promoted sides, the challenge is difficult. Therefore, the Tuscan club are hoping adding experienced players like Cuadrado to their team will give them a huge boost.

Sky: Liverpool forward Nuñez is top target for Milan https://football-italia.net/sky-liverpool-nunez-milan/ https://football-italia.net/sky-liverpool-nunez-milan/#respond Sat, 02 Aug 2025 15:43:27 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=906110

Milan have made Liverpool forward Darwin Nuñez their number one priority to reinforce their attack, reports from Italy claim.

According to what has been reported by SkySport, Milan have made contact with the Uruguayan forward and the Rossoneri are serious about providing new head coach Massimiliano Allegri with a top striker.

The reports also name Arnaud Kalimuendo, Dusan Vlahovic and Rasmus Hojlund as alternatives but underline Nuñez as the number one target.

Milan face competition for Darwin Nuñez

However, it is not just Milan in the race for the Uruguayan. Sky report that Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal are also interested in the forward but have yet to submit any official proposal.

Simone Inzaghi’s side have already had an impact on the Rossoneri’s transfer window this summer – having purchased French full-back Theo Hernandez from the Serie A side earlier in the window.

Last season, Nuñez scored five goals and provided two assists in 30 Premier League matches and Liverpool have already signed Hugo Ekitike and are rumoured to be working on a deal for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak. Therefore, the Reds are prepared to entertain offers for the former Benfica forward.

Juan Jesus: ‘Napoli must never let our guard down again’ https://football-italia.net/juan-jesus-napoli-must-never-let-our-guard-down-again/ https://football-italia.net/juan-jesus-napoli-must-never-let-our-guard-down-again/#respond Sat, 02 Aug 2025 15:19:26 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=906108

Brazilian defender Juan Jesus has praised Napoli’s defensive improvements and revealed how head coach Antonio Conte has instilled a winning attitude into the side.

Speaking to Radio CRC, with quotes via Alfredo Pedulla’s website, Jesus said that “If a team defends as a unit, it becomes much easier for the back line. We take responsibility for the mistakes we made two years ago, we are not hiding, but those mistakes helped us grow and taught us that we can never let our guard down again.”

Jesus played 15 times in Serie A for Napoli last season and wore the captain’s armband in the club’s 3-1 Coppa Italia defeat to Lazio.

Napoli boss ‘Conte never backs down’

The radio station asked Jesus about his thoughts on the club’s pre-season so far: “I’m happy to be here in Castel di Sangro – I’ve been coming for several years now. Maybe it is surprising to some who didn’t know me well or didn’t think I would stay this long but I know my own qualities and what I had to offer.”

Jesus was complimentary of former Napoli head coach Luciano Spalletti, who spent two years at the club between 2021 and 2023: “The first person to believe in me was Spalletti. Without him, I would not have made history at Napoli. Now Conte is here and I know I have his trust. I’m proud to have spent much time here and to have won two Scudetti. Hopefully, we can continue writing history together.”

On Spalletti, Jesus added that “With him, I think I played 18 or 19 league matches since he rotated a lot with Kim, Rrahmani and also Østigard. Last year, with Buongiorno’s injury I had more opportunities and was able to give my all.”

Antonio Conte has been at Napoli since last summer with Jesus describing the head coach as having “a very specific method and he teaches you to never give up. Given his career and personality, he has always been someone who never backs down and pushes us to give 100%. You can see that on the pitch.”

Como close in on Morata as Milan and Galatasaray strike deal https://football-italia.net/como-close-in-on-morata-milan-galatasaray/ https://football-italia.net/como-close-in-on-morata-milan-galatasaray/#respond Sat, 02 Aug 2025 14:48:37 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=906105

Milan and Galatasaray are close to reaching an agreement to terminate the loan of Alvaro Morata, reports from Italy claim, freeing up the Spanish forward to move to Como.

According to what has been reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport, after weeks of negotiations between the various clubs involved, the Morata saga may finally be over soon as the striker heads to Como.

The former Atletico Madrid and Chelsea player had been on loan with Galatasaray since January but when Como came knocking this summer, the Rossoneri accepted a proposal from Cesc Fabregas’ side. Therefore, Milan had to talk to Galatasaray about terminating the players loan, something the Turkish club were refusing to let happen easily.

As Morata saga draws to a close, Como prepare for valuable reinforcement

Morata was a top target of Como this summer, with the club looking to build on their successful return to Serie A last season. The Spanish forward is experienced and played alongside head coach Fabregas for both Chelsea and the Spanish national team.

Gazzetta report that the fee will be around €10 million and Galatasaray will likely earn a sum in compensation from the Rossoneri once Morata’s move to Como is complete.

Tomori happy at Milan after Tottenham and Juventus transfer rejection in January https://football-italia.net/tomori-happy-at-milan-after-tottenham-snub/ https://football-italia.net/tomori-happy-at-milan-after-tottenham-snub/#respond Sat, 02 Aug 2025 13:53:28 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=906103

Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has said he is “happy” at the club and “until the last day I wear this shirt, I will give everything for Milan.”

Speaking via the Gazzetta dello Sport, Tomori explained, in Italian, that “I have always said I was happy here” and his dedication to the club “will never change”, after rumours in January linked him strongly with a move to Tottenham Hotspur or Juventus.

Juventus were in talks with the defender before Spurs emerged as favourites to sign the Englishman. However, the former Chelsea defender decided to stay at Milan and has reiterated this commitment with his latest comments.

Tomori a good fit for Allegri’s system

According to Gazzetta’s reports, new Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri is a big fan of the defender. The reports suggest that Allegri sees Tomori as a Rossoneri equivalent of Andrea Barzagli, who served Allegri for a long time in his 3-at-the-back system at Juventus.

Therefore, when Allegri opts for a 3-man defence instead of a 4-3-3, the centre-back could be an important player to have in the squad. The coach likes the player and the player likes the club: the futures of Tomori and Milan seem to remain intertwined.

Napoli reignite interest in Liverpool winger Chiesa https://football-italia.net/napoli-liverpool-winger-chiesa/ https://football-italia.net/napoli-liverpool-winger-chiesa/#comments Sat, 02 Aug 2025 13:30:19 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=906101

Napoli are considering a move for Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa, reports from Italy claim, after the former Juventus player has been considered surplus to requirements by the Premier League champions.

According to what has been reported by the Corriere dello Sport, Napoli had been caught in two minds over whether to pursue a new winger or a full-back. After missing out on Swiss forward Dan Ndoye to Nottingham Forest, the Neapolitan side turned their attention to Girona defender Miguel Gutierrez but the deal has reportedly been put on hold.

Therefore, Napoli return to their pursuit of a winger.

Chiesa amongst names linked to Napoli

Chiesa is not the only winger linked to Napoli. Two more Premier League outcasts in Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling and Manchester City’s Jack Grealish have been touted as options for Antonio Conte’s side. However, their extreme salaries are somewhat of a deterrent.

Chiesa, on the other hand, earns significantly less than Sterling and Grealish. The Liverpool forward earns around €6 million per season and so is much closer to being within Napoli’s budget.

Report: Juventus set Vlahovic asking price amid Milan interest https://football-italia.net/report-juventus-set-vlahovic-price-milan/ https://football-italia.net/report-juventus-set-vlahovic-price-milan/#comments Sat, 02 Aug 2025 13:07:46 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=906099

Juventus are willing to part ways with Serbian forward Dusan Vlahovic this summer, reports from Italy claim, but only if a bid comes in for at least €25 million.

According to what has been reported by SportMediaset, via MilanNews, Juventus will not consider offers less than their requested amount but are prepared to sell the forward.

Milan have been linked as suitors for the former Fiorentina striker, with speculation growing in recent weeks that the Rossoneri could move to reunited head coach Massimiliano Allegri with the forward he coached at Juventus.

Amid Milan rumours, could Vlahovic stay at Juventus?

Juventus have signed Canadian forward Jonathan David already this summer, putting Vlahovic on the fringes in Turin and the rumours linking the Serbian away from the Bianconeri have grown since the former Lille man signed his contract with Igor Tudor’s side.

However, the reports indicate Juventus have set their minimum price and if Milan are discouraged or decide to pursue alternative targets, and no other suitors emerge, there is the possibility he will stay in Bianconeri colours.

Tudor delighted with Bremer return; Juventus working hard for new season https://football-italia.net/tudor-delighted-with-bremer-return-juventus/ https://football-italia.net/tudor-delighted-with-bremer-return-juventus/#respond Sat, 02 Aug 2025 12:51:13 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=906097

Juventus drew 2-2 against Reggiana today in their first pre-season friendly of the summer and head coach Igor Tudor has described the match as “a good test for us” and said that his side are “working hard” ahead of the new season.

Speaking after the game, with quotes via Tuttosport, Tudor said “You could feel the intensity of the training sessions we’ve had this week – so naturally there was a lot of fatigue. Physically, as is normal at this stage, some players are a bit ahead, others are a bit behind. Today’s game was a very useful training session.”

Tudor: ‘Happy to see Bremer back’ for Juventus

Gleison Bremer returned to the Juventus team for the first time since the injury that left him absent for a majority of last season. Tudor was happy to have the Brazilian defender back available to him: “I’m happy to see Gleison back. Of course, it will still take some time and he will need to play matches to get back to his usual level.”

Then, the head coach described the state of the team in general: “I’m satisfied with these first few days of training. The workload has been significant and the new arrivals have settled in really well straight away. There is a great level of commitment within the squad and a real desire to do things the right way.”

Tudor used a wide range of players in today’s friendly against Reggiana, with transfer-linked Lloyd Kelly, Filip Kostic and Dusan Vlahovic all making an appearance, the latter scoring the Bianconeri’s second-goal. There were also unofficial debuts for new signings Jonathan David and Joao Mario.

Wolves have accelerated in their pursuit of Sevilla full-back Juanlu, as the Premier League side look to beat Napoli in the race to sign the Spaniard.

According to Fabrizio Romano on X, Wolves are now pushing to sign the 21-year-old, despite Napoli being in talks to sign the player for over a month.

Why Napoli fell behind Wolves in Juanlu race

Last month, we revealed that Napoli were not prioritising a move for Juanlu, as Antonio Conte’s side were favouring moves for potential starters. The Spaniard, meanwhile, would have been a backup option for Giovanni Di Lorenzo and therefore the Neapolitans took their foot off the gas when Sevilla stood firm over their demands for the player.

Now, Wolves will try to close on a deal for the Spain U23 international. It is likely that the Premier League side will have to meet the €15 million that Napoli had ready to offer Sevilla for the youngster.

Inter have rejected a bid from Crystal Palace for German centre-back Yann Bisseck, reports from Italy claim, as the Nerazzurri stand firm over their asking price for the player.

According to what has been reported by journalist Fabrizio Biasin on X, Palace had a bid of €32 million rejected by Inter, who would like closer to €40 million for the defender.

This is the second Premier League bid rejected for Bisseck this summer, after West Ham had a €20 million offer rejected already.

Crystal Palace look to Bisseck as Guehi future hangs in balance

Whether or not Palace up their bid for Bisseck could be linked directly to the future of Marc Guehi. The 25-year-old has been linked away from Oliver Glasner’s club, with the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle United mentioned as possible destinations.

Whilst Guehi staying in London would not necessarily mean a deal for Bisseck could not happen, it will become much more feasible for the Premier League side to meet Inter’s demands if they know they are on the verge of a key sale in a similar position.

Who could Milan sell to fund swoop for Liverpool’s Chiesa https://football-italia.net/who-could-milan-fund-chiesa/ https://football-italia.net/who-could-milan-fund-chiesa/#comments Wed, 30 Jul 2025 15:56:34 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=905640

Last week, Milan sporting director Igli Tare said that the club will only pursue a new winger if they manage to offload one of their existing players, as speculation begins to grow that the club will move for Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa.

Speaking to the press, Tare said “We plan to intervene on the wings in the event of any exits.”

Reports earlier today suggested that the Rossoneri are set to meet with Chiesa’s representatives this week, so who could be leaving the club?

Milan’s Chukwueze wanted by Fulham?

According to reports from the Gazzetta dello Sport, via MilanNews24, Premier League club Fulham are interested in signing Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze. La Liga club Real Betis have also been linked to the Nigerian but Fulham’s interest appears more concrete.

Aside from Chukwueze, Swiss forward Noah Okafor is also being linked away from the Rossoneri, despite performing well in pre-season. The 25-year-old scored twice in Milan’s 4-2 victory over Liverpool but the Serie A side still consider the player to be up for sale.

Is Chiesa worth it for Milan?

Chiesa will not be a cheap purchase, even if the club manage to offload players to help finance the move. The 27-year-old signed for Premier League champions Liverpool last summer for €12 million, just two years after his €45 million move to Juventus from Fiorentina.

Chiesa’s contract with Liverpool does not expire until 2028 and therefore the Reds hold all the cards in any potential negotiation with Milan. The player’s wage demands may be higher than the Rossoneri would like to pay, considering a shift in attitude off-the-pitch has led the club to attempt more sensible financial decisions.

However, price aside, Chiesa could be a valuable addition. Massimiliano Allegri has re-joined the Rossoneri this summer as head coach and his time working with Chiesa at Juventus could be decisive in convincing the player to join and allowing him to flourish if he does.

Chiesa played just 104 minutes in the 2024-25 Premier League campaign for Liverpool, making most of his appearances in cup competitions.

Besiktas are considering a move to make Roberto Mancini their new head coach, as reports from Turkey claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the verge of being sacked.

According to the reports from the Turkish media, via CalcioMercato, Besiktas are preparing to contact Mancini in the coming days to understand his salary demands and to calculate the feasibility of a move for the former Azzurri head coach.

Solskjaer in trouble as Besiktas contact Mancini

Besiktas failed to qualify for the Champions League and were defeated 4-2 at home in the first leg of their Europa League qualifying match against Shakhtar Donetsk. This has applied a huge amount of pressure to the Norwegian head coach and the Turkish club are already working on a replacement.

Aside from Mancini, the club are also considering bringing back Sergen Yalcin. Yalcin won both the league and Turkish cup with Besiktas in the 2020-21 season, before resigning the following season. The 52-year-old reportedly wants a one year contract to return to his old club, with an option of a second.

Premier League clubs Leeds and West Ham have enquired for Roma forward Artem Dovbyk, according to reports in Italy, as the Ukrainian striker could leave the Italian capital after just one year.

CalcioMercato are reporting that the two Premier League sides have registered an informal request for information on the former Girona man but that no official offer has yet been submitted to the Giallorossi.

Dovbyk signed for Roma last summer from Girona, for a reported fee of €38 million. In his debut season with the Serie A side, the striker scored 17 goals in 45 games in all competitions.

The reports also claim that if Dovbyk were to leave the club, the Giallorossi would be in the market for a replacement. Evan Ferguson was signed already on loan from Brighton but to play alongside Dovbyk, or another striker, rather than instead of.

Milan ready to negotiate for Liverpool forward Chiesa – report https://football-italia.net/milan-liverpool-chiesa-report/ https://football-italia.net/milan-liverpool-chiesa-report/#respond Wed, 30 Jul 2025 14:49:56 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=905624

Milan are set to meet with the entourage of Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa, reports from Italy claim, as the Rossoneri weigh up the feasibility of a move for the Italian winger.

According to the latest reports from MilanNews24, the latter half of this week will be vital in Milan’s pursuit of the player. The Rossoneri will meet with Chiesa’s agents and then consider putting forward a proposal to the Premier League club.

Under Tare and Allegri, Milan look to Chiesa to rebuild

Milan have seen a number of key changes off the pitch this summer. Massimiliano Allegri returned to the club as head coach whilst former Lazio sporting director Igli Tare also joined the Rossoneri.

Allegri worked with Chiesa at Juventus and could be key in convincing Chiesa to join the project at Milan, which would likely require the 27-year-old to take a cut in pay. For Liverpool’s part, the Premier League side are willing to part ways with the player if a suitable offer comes in. Arne Slot’s side have already made several big moves in the transfer market and are currently in talks to sign Newcastle forward Alexander Isak – with the Reds having to make sales to balance the books.

Former Roma forward Justin Kluivert ranked Serie A as the third-best league in Europe, whilst declaring his love for the Giallorossi and his time in the Italian capital.

Kluivert, 26, spent five years with Roma, albeit spending three seasons out on loan with Leipzig, Nice and Valencia. These transfers, however, and his eventual move to Bournemouth meant the striker joined exclusive ranks as only the second player in history to score in all of the top 5 European leagues.

Kluivert spoke to CBS about his record and was also asked to rank the leagues:

Wolves and Nottingham Forest discouraged by Milan demands for Musah https://football-italia.net/wolves-forest-milan-musah-demands/ https://football-italia.net/wolves-forest-milan-musah-demands/#comments Wed, 30 Jul 2025 13:58:55 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=905614

Milan’s asking price for midfielder Yunus Musah has discouraged the likes of Wolves and Nottingham Forest, who were linked to the USA international, from pursuing a deal, reports from Italy claim.

According to what has been reported by CalcioMercato, the Rossoneri want a total package of €30 million for the former Arsenal and Valencia player. This has been considered too expensive by the various clubs pursuing the 22-year-old and therefore his future hangs in the balance.

No Premier League for Milan midfielder Musah

Reports last month suggested that Forest and Wolves were both keen on Musah, whilst West Ham were also mentioned. However, the latest reports indicate that this interest was never concrete and at this moment in time, that is unlikely to change.

In early June, Napoli were thought to be closing in on a deal for Musah, after head Antonio Conte expressed his desire to sign the player. However, there was a disagreement over the bonus payments requested by the Rossoneri, who wanted an addition €3-4 million on top of the €25 million price tag.

Como consider West Ham target Piccoli as Morata waits for Galatasaray https://football-italia.net/como-consider-piccoli-morata/ https://football-italia.net/como-consider-piccoli-morata/#respond Wed, 30 Jul 2025 13:46:15 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=905610

Como are interested in signing Cagliari forward Roberto Piccoli, reports from Italy claim, amid rumours linking the Italian striker to West Ham United and Benfica.

According to what has been reported by CalcioMercato, Como are the latest team to register an interest in the Cagliari forward, yet the Sardinian club want no less than €30 million for Piccoli’s signature – having only just made the striker’s move from Atalanta permanent for €12.5 million.

West Ham made a further request for information on Tuesday, as the club evaluate potential striker options. Benfica, meanwhile, are closing in on Union Saint-Gilloise’s Franjo Ivanovic and have put a move for Piccoli on the back-burner.

Como have also been strongly linked with a move for Milan forward Alvaro Morata, currently on loan in Turkey with Galatasaray. Despite reaching an agreement with Milan and the player himself, Como are waiting for Galatasaray to relinquish their loan.

The Spaniard currently is contracted to the Super Lig club until Summer 2026 and the Turkish giants are waiting for the Rossoneri to make a suitable proposal to cancel the deal.

Chiellini defends Comolli and talks foundation building at Juventus https://football-italia.net/chiellini-defends-comolli-juventus/ https://football-italia.net/chiellini-defends-comolli-juventus/#respond Wed, 30 Jul 2025 13:26:17 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=905607

Former Juventus and Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini has defended Bianconeri general manager Damien Comolli, describing him as “data-focused because he believes in numbers, but that does not mean he is just a stats guy with no human side” amid criticism Comolli has faced for some of his decisions this summer.

Comolli, in the current absence of a sporting director at Juventus, has been given command of the Bianconeri’s business in the transfer market this summer. The Old Lady will work on a permanent sporting director after the summer has finished.

Chiellini, who is now the director of international relations at the club, told Tuttosport that “We are trying to build a foundation because without a strong base, you cannot get back to winning. The idea is to create solidity, so this group can grow and take on the burden and the honour of starting a new winning cycle.”

Chiellini: ‘Tudor has brought a great work ethic’ at Juventus’

Chiellini was also complimentary of head coach Igor Tudor, who signed an extension with the Bianconeri this summer despite speculation the club were looking at alternatives.

Chiellini said that “Igor has brought in a great work ethic. There is a real desire to do well. It’s a positive environment. Of course, to go from that to winning takes many steps and there are many obstacles but we are starting with solid values.”

Finally, the former centre-back commented on the state of Italian football on the whole and was concerned that clubs in Italy are quickly being left behind by other big clubs in Europe. “Our international value is dropping more and more. The risk is that we become non-competitive at the top level, which in turn drags all of Italian football down. And if I told you I had a plan, I’d be presumptuous and lying. But we are trying to fight it.”

As director of international relations in Turin, this is exactly the former Juventus captain’s job – his role is focused on boosting the Bianconeri’s profile internationally.
