Massimiliano Allegri is on the verge of returning to Milan, so we ask our readers to have their say on his possible appointment. Is it a good move for the club?

Allegri already won the Serie A title at Milan in 2011, but failed to retain the Scudetto in the following campaign against Antonio Conte’s Juventus. He was sacked in January 2014, leaving the team struggling for a Champions League spot.

That same year, he was hired by Juventus, who had seen Conte resign just one day into the 2014-15 pre-season.

Allegri remained in Turin for five years, winning five Serie A titles, three Supercoppa titles, four Coppa Italia and reaching the Champions League Final twice.

He returned to Turin two years later after Maurizio Sarri and Andrea Pirlo’s spells at the Allianz Stadium and won one more Coppa Italia in three troubled seasons.

Despite being one of the most successful coaches in Italian football, Allegri has often been criticised by some fans and the media due to his defensive playing style.

However, the Rossoneri need a pair of reliable hands after finishing outside a European placement in 2024-25.

New Milan director Igli Tare didn’t hide his admiration for Allegri a few months back when he described him and Antonio Conte as the “best” Italian coaches.
